The Grand Event of St’ Nicholas Business Club for the Day of the Seafarer

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, a grand event dedicated to the Day of the Seafarer took place on the premises of St’ Nicholas Business Club, specifically at the Club’s atmospheric Roof Garden paying tribute to the people who serve the sea.

The Day of the Seafarer has been established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a day of global recognition and honor for seafarers, acknowledging their timeless and pivotal contribution to the operation of international shipping, world trade, and the global economy.

Welcoming addresses at the event were delivered by the President of St’ Nicholas Business Club and PYLI Net Human Centric Technology, Dr. Ioannis Patiniotis, the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Stefanos Gikas, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Juseong Lim, as well as the Director of the St’ Nicholas Business Club, Ms. Vera Ioannidou.

The event was also honored by the presence of prominent personalities from Shipping, Politics, and Business, such as the Founding President of St’ Nicholas Business Club, CEO of Arcadia Shipmanagement and Aegean Bulk, and Chairman of the Green Award Foundation, Capt. The video showcased the daily lives of seafarers, who travel for months away from their families, work under demanding and often adverse conditions, and play a pivotal role in maintaining the global supply chain, international shipping, and world trade.
